News -> Taiwan Earthquake Update

According to a statement issued earlier this week by the Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA), the telecommunications operators have continued to be engaged in the urgent repairs of the seven (7) damaged submarine cable systems. Due to inclement weather conditions and the extensive nature of the damages caused by the earthquakes, the latest status is that the first stage of the repair work of the damaged systems is expected to be completed within the second half of this month. The remaining repair work is expected to be completed progressively by the middle of February 2007, if the weather and the environment permit.
